DEEP SHOQ (LTU)
Hailing from Vilnius, Lithuania, Deep Shoq (aka Donatas Rinkevicius) is a producer of the urban-electronic beats scene, who has always thrived between future beats, bass, footwork, jungle and r&b flavours. His sound sits in the beat-laden, post-dubstep territory with a very energetic, almost hip-hop like vibe that rattles with optimistic synth lines and chopped soulful vocals.
Deep Shoq has been recently nominated in National music awards (M.A.M.A.) as one of the Best Electronic Acts in the country (2015).
A student of the classical piano since childhood for 12 years, he has emerged as a solo musicmaker in 2009, pursuing the electronica and future side of beats with a numerous appearances in Lithuanian beat compilations “RITMO KOVOS“ by Renegades of Bump, and naturally his path would lead him to an affiliation with Darker Than Wax.
With considerable support from heavyweights, Deep Shoq‘s release “Arrows“ EP on DTW lauded him as a promising up and coming producer, and has been validated by the likes of Mixmag Bass charts, and was also featured on King Britt’s BBC Radio 1 guest mix for Benji B.
The hardworking producer has continued from strength to strength, releasing under international labels such as Project Mooncircle(DE), Shimmy Records (UK), Future Beats Records (UK), Black Marble Collective (US) and, most recently (2016), “Krystallise“ EP on DTW. The lead single of the EP has also premiered on Boiler Room Debuts series. Most recently, his production earned him a spot on Adult Swim’s LUXE compilation and on the festival side, he has represented DTW at the Reeperbahn festival in Hamburg.
